Baringo K Van Den Dries is a colt by Emerald van't Ruytershof, an Olympic stallion and purveyor of Grand Prix horses. His dam is a young mare by Hunter's Scendro. The grandmother, Lara Des Chaines, herself jumped at 1.50m level. Further in this lineage we also find the Olympic horse Thor Des Chaines (Sydney 2000).
